MIDDLE EAST SPY ASSIGNMENT
$16.99 – $31.99
During the Cold War, the U.S. put into action a plan to train American officers in the geopolitics of world affairs. Major Bo is assigned to study at the American University in Beruit, Lebanon. During this time, Bo accepts an assignment to be dropped in Iraq to provide intelligence on the north Iraqi airfields. At the same time, the Revolutionary Guard of Iraq has assumed power, and the king has been overthrown. As a tight grip is placed upon the country, military personnel are on the hunt for Israeli and foreign spies. The pursuit of Major Bo begins as he is gathering recognizance on the airfield at Mosul, and continues as he floats the Tigris River with a trading family, in an attempt to make his way to friendly Iran. When Major Bo meets Arab Warlord Captain Kabir along the way, the Captain insists that Bo join him. Tricked, Bo becomes a prisoner at the historic Zagros Pit Prison, a place more commonly known as the “Pit of Forgotten Men”. Here, political and religious figures are held without trial. Unwilling to give up, Bo adapts to the life of a captive, hoping the U.S. can negotiate for his release.
