Kent Kimball was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He sang and played clarinet in school, church choirs and orchestras, often performing in talent shows and plays. He did not formerly study acting until many years later. Kent attended Los Angeles City College and graduated from the University of Southern California in 1973 with a B.S. in Business Administration.
